Commentary on the Toponym:	Kommentar (Talbert): -> stretch to Ticeno: The copyist begins the name so high and close to the river that he must then postpone making the chicane for the start of the stretch; hence the first part of the name covers the end of the previous stretch. Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 227: Laumellum, it. (IG 1. 2, It, Pt), mansio Laumello (It, Hi, IG 3), Laumedon (Gu), eine Stadt der Libici (Pt); j. Laumello oder Lomello. Iss: 6471-6476. 8927. 21, 22 (It bis), 21 (IG 1. 3), 20 (IG 2). Dazwischen nach dem Hi: mut. Duriis (Am) 9; j. Dorno inde 12. Vielleicht gehört hierher der Meilenstein aus Casteggio mit der Entfernungszahl 3 (a Ticeno). I: 8062. Datierung (Barrington): Laumellum – Roman/Late Antique (Blake 1985) RE: Laumellum, jetzt Lomello. Nach Ptolem. III 1, 36 gehörte der Ort mit Vercellae den Libici, kommt aber nur noch bei Ammian. Marc. XV 8, 18. Paul. Diac. H. Lang. III 35 und den itinerarien (12 mp. von Cuttiae) vor. Es handelt sich gewiss nur um einen vicus, der heute freilich dem Distritk den Namen Lomellina gibt.
