stretch to Addiana -> The map is hard to interpret here, no doubt because of copyists` shortcomings. I conjecture that, curious though it is, the symbol for Addiana and the junction to its bottom left are to be regarded as the same spot. The VI below the symbol I take to be the distance from Syllas, and the III thereafter the onward distance from Addiana to Capvae.

Syllae, eine Station der Tab. Peut., die Beloch (Campanien 367) 6 mp. vom Dianatempel talaufwärts am Volturnus sucht, Cuntz (Österr. Jahresh. II 99) dagegen besser (vgl. Kiepert FOA 20,1) zwischen Trebula und Dianatempel. Nissen (Ital. Landesk. UU 710) folgt der Tab. Peut. (dazu Geogr. Rav. IV 33) und setzt S. Caiatia gegenüber an. Der Name hängt mit dem Sieg zusammen, den Sulla 83 in der Nähe des Tempels zwischen dem Volturnus und Capua über den cos. Norbanus erfocht (Vell. Pat. II 25. Flor. II 9,19. Obseq. 57). Vgl.
