Commentary on the Toponym:

Kommentar (Talbert):
With ItMiller 372 (compare BAtlas 44 F2-G2), it seems natural to question whether the mapmaker linked the Ad Pyr and Avfidena stretches, because it is such an unlikely route on the ground. The link is conceivably an addition by a copyist, either well-meaning but ill-informed, or just careless.

Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 372:

Datierung (Barrington):
Ad Pyr(um) – Roman (Carroccia 1989)
