Commentary on the Toponym:	Kommentar (Talbert): -> stretch to Dimo: Evidently the small hole in the parchment was already present before the distance figure XIII was placed to avoid it. Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 504: 17 - es sollte etwa 7 heißen, da die Zahl 17 nicht unterzubringen ist. Securispa, Securisca (It, Ra, Proc, ND - cuneus equitum scutariorum), Curisca und Karisca (Theoph); j. ungefähr Gurabeli beim heutigen Nikopoli, in einiger Entfernung von der Donau, oder Nicopoli selbst. Vgl. Cercovica (6129a). Daneben Nicopolis ad Istrum (Hl, Proc, Jorn), an der Mündung des Escamus, von Trajan zum Andenken an seinen Sieg über die Dacier geründet (Am); civitas Nicopolianorum (I: CIL III 1481 - gefunden am Fluß Marissus), dom. Nicapolis (ib. 4458 - gefunden in Altneburg), Nicopolis (ib. 4458 - gefunden in Polsky-Sjenovec), Ulpia Nicopolis (D. 86 - hier gefunden); das heutige Nikapoli - lag nicht an der Straße (It).
