Macomades Minores (Minores, wobei „e“ undeutlich zu lesen ist), it. und Macumades (Ra), Macomadibus Munic. (It) – [zu unterscheiden von Macomadibus zwischen Theveste und Cirta in Num.]. Ein Bischof wird a. 411 genannt; j. bei Mahres.
27; 17 und 28 (It); von Mahres ca. 12 km bis zum Ruinenfeld von Thine.
Abzweigung nach Autenti – Sufetula (It).

Dictionary of Greek and Roman Geography:
A town of Zeugitana with a harbour (Scylax, p. 47; Stadiasm. § 107 ), the same as the MACOMADES of Pliny (5.3; Μακόμαδα, Ptol. 4.3.11); a “municipium,” as it appears from the Antonine Itinerary ( “Macomades Minores,” Peut. Tab.; Geog. Rav. 3.5); this latter name indicates a Phoenician origin. (Mövers, Phoeniz. Alterth. vol. ii. p. 494.) It has been identified with Kass`r Ounga, on the N. of the Gulf of Hammámét.
