Gleiche Namensform:
Μεσορώμη Ptol. 5,6,10 (als Stadt im Landesinnern des Polemoniakischen Pontos zwischen Sebasteia und Sabalia aufgeführt).

Sinclair 2019, 198f; 201 identifiziert Mesorome mit Şahna Çimen in ottonman. Itininerarien aus dem 16. u. 17. Jh., denen zufolge es im Tal des Kelkit (Lykos), 5 km südl. und etwas oberhalb des Flusses, nahe der heutige Hauptstraße liegt.

Ort in Kappadokien, an der Straße Sebasteia–Nikopolis, zwischen Nikopolis und Megalassus,
(s. Ruge, RE 1163) an der Abzweigung der Straße über Speluncis nach Comana Pontica.

Laut TP liegt Mesorome 13 Meilen (ca. 19,5 km) vor 9A5 Nicopoli (heute: Yeşilyayla).

Lokalisierungshypothesen:
- ? Suşehri (BAtlas S. 1234; Stückelberger/Graßhoff ad Ptol. 5,6,10), knapp 8 km nw. von Yeşilyayla/Nicopolis.
- Hanevi Harabesi (Olshausen/Biller 1984, 149 mit Wilson 1966).
- Gegend von Şerefiye (Bryer/Winfield 1985, 24; ältere Ansätze s. ibd. 23), also weiter westl. als BAtlas.
- ? Karacaviran („dunkle Ruine“) 16 km südlich von Nicopolis (als Alternative zu der Identifizierung der Fundstätte mit Dagalassos auf der Straße von Sebastia nach Nicopolis Mitford 2018, vol. 1, 285; vol. 2 Karte 17).

Meilenangabe nach Nicopoli: XIII (13),
