Die Entfernung des It stimmt von von Provo bis Rakoviza. Kommentar (RE): https://elexikon.ch/RE/II,1_293.png 3) ad Aquas, Station auf dem Wege von Viminacium nach Durostorum, zwischen Egeta und Ratiaria, nach dem It. Ant. p. 218 m. p. XVI, nach Tab. Peut. XVIII hinter Egeta; einfach Aquas beim Geogr. Rav. IV 7, Aquis im It. Ant. genannt, Ἄκυες bei Procop. de aedif. IV 6 p. 289 (vgl. p. 285 χώρα Ἀκυεσία). Der Ort wurde bisher unmittelbar am serbischen Donauufer bei Praovo gesucht; F. Kanitz Römische Studien in Serbien, Denkschriften Akad. Wien XLI 1892, 57f., verlegt ihn jedoch mit triftigen Gründen auf das weiter landeinwärts gelegene quellenreiche, von der Cubra und Jasenica umflossene, Plateau von Vidovac, wo sich Reste eines [295] starken Castells vorfinden; hier war jedenfalls ein strategisch wichtiger Communicationspunkt; Procopius verlegt zahlreiche Ortschaften in das Territorium von Aquae.
