Commentary on the Toponym:	Ort in Ostdalmatien oder im Westen von Moesia superior an der Straße Sirmium-ad Drinum. Der Name Gensis ist sonst nicht belegt. Die Namensform Gerd... ist einmal bezeugt auf einem Altarfragment, gefunden in Skelani an der Drina: ILJug. 1535 (duo)v[i]r q(uin)q[uennalis…] Gerd(…) it(em) m(unicipii) M(al…) l(ibens) p(osuit) (s. Patsch RE s. v. Gerdis, 1245). Vielleicht hatte der Ort den Status eines administrativen vicus der Minen an der unteren Drina (so vorsichtig Dušanić 2004, 252). Meilenangabe nach Addrinvm: xv. Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 472: 30. Gensis; j. südlich von Lesnica am Jadarfluss. 15. Datierung (Barrington): Gensis / § Gerd(...) - Roman, Late Antique / Roman (ItMiller 472; RE / ILIug. 1535; RE).
