Siracusis, Siracusa (Ra), Syracusae civitas (It ma), Syracusis (It), sonst Syracusae, gegründet 735 v. Chr., 212 v. Chr. römisch, col. (Pl, Pt, Iss: CIL X 7131. 7132) des Augustus, aber ohne die alte Bedeutung; großer und kleiner Hafen. Der Umfang größer als der Roms. ep. (saec. I, II, a. 304, 314, 465 sequ.); j. Siracusa, nur einen kleinen Teil der alten Stadt einnehmend. Iss: CIL X 7120-7187. 8045 1. 8051 4. 26. 8053 112. 168. 8056. 8314. 8315. CIG 5367-5423 b cum add. p. 1242. 1243. Mit vielen und großartigen Überresten. Im Meere steht schwarz geschrieben und vor Catina, aber vielleicht nicht hierher, sondern zu Syracus gehörig: Port. Tragecynus.
