Das h. Ventimiglia in Italien. Stadt der Liguri Intimilii (Strab. 4,6,2), municipium mit duoviri der regio IX (Plin. nat. 3,48), tribus Falerna, an der via Iulia Augusta , Bischofssitz, byz. castrum. Unruhen 49 v. Chr. (Cic. fam. 8,15,2), Verwüstungen durch die Anhänger des Otho 69 n. Chr. (Tac. Agr. 7; hist. 2,13). Im Hochma. aufgegeben. Arch. Überreste: Mauer, insulae , Thermen, Theater, Nekropole, Aquädukt.

III 1,3, wo der Name verdorben), auch einfach Intimilium (CIL V 886; Vintimilium It. Marit. 503; corrupt bei Varro de r.r. III 9, 17. Tac. Agric. 7), Einwohner Albintimilienses (CIL V 7883), Stadt an der Küste von Ligurien. In der Kaiserzeit Municipium zur Tribus Falerna gehörig (CIL VI 2589. V 776. 7813), von Strabon πόλις εὐμεγέθης genannt, wurde es im J. 69 von den Othonianern geplündert (Tac. hist. II 13, wo Albinitimilitum). Ruinen in der Pianura di Nervia, 5 km. östlich vom heutigen Ventimiglia. Inschriften CIL V 7810-7816. 8962 a. Pais Suppl. nr. 982-1008. 1311-1314.
