Commentary on the Toponym:	Kommentar (Talbert): There is no room for the name by the river`s source, so it is placed near the mouth. Link zum Quellgebirge: [Mons N.N. 15c ID 3526] Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 389: Fl` Misiu, nicht gezeichnet, zwischen Polentia und Sacrata; j. Musone. Datierung (Barrington): Misius fl. – Late Antique (ItMiller 389) RE: Misius, auch Misis, nach der Tab. Peut. Flüsschen in Picenum, das bei Potentia in die Adria mündet. Mommsen (CIL IX 554) identifiziert den Fluss Misis mit dem heutigen Chienti, dessen Name wohl in der Station Cluana steckt. Forbiger denkt an den heutigen Musone oder Muscinone, den meine Karten nicht enthalten. Die etwas oberhalb am M. gelegene Abtei S. Maria di Chienti wird wohl die zum Fluss gehörige Station der Tab. Peut. sein. [Philipp] Nissen - Register Misius fl. Picenum (Tab. Peut).
