Commentary on the Toponym:	Kommentar (Talbert): Miller`s reading of the name seems too bold. Only the final letter, "a", is clear. What remains of the first letter could equally be part of "G" rather than "C". Note that this island, and the one to the right below (#16), are both colored red. As Miller suggests, an alternative identification for the island is Caprasia (BAtlas 41 B3). Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 394: NS Corsica, gegenüber von Pisa; deshalb vielleicht = Gorgona (Ra), Gorgonia; vielleicht auch Capraia. Datierung (Barrington): Urgo/ Gorgon Ins. – ? (RE Gorgon 1) Caprasia Ins. - ? (RE Capraria 4) [T.W.] Heute ist noch mit Hilfe der Photographien von 1888 deutlich "Ins. Co[.]sica" zu lesen. Welser und Scheyb führen "Ins Corsica" an. Auch wenn es keinen antiken Quellenbeleg für eine weitere Insel namens Corsica vor der italienischen Küste gibt, scheint der dritte Buchstabe ein "R" gewesen zu sein.
