As BAtlas Map 67 demonstrates, to reach Amphipolis (if this is how the map`s Apammari should be identified) from Hierapolis via Eragiza is indeed circuitous; but the map offers similarly roundabout routes elsewhere without warning.

2) In Syrien. Nach Plin. n. h. V 87 der spätere Name von Thapsakos (s. d.), den die Stadt nach Steph. Byz. und Appian Syr. 57 von Seleukos Nikator erhielt. Der syrische Name der Stadt war nach Stephanos Turmeda. [Benzinger. ]
