Commentary on the Toponym:	Kommentar (Talbert): -> stretch to Si[lesv]a: One stretch is drawn as two. Distance is given as: "Athasartho SILESVA MILIA PASSVS XII" (all the capital lettering is well spaced out). Altogether this stretch extends to approx. 11.5 ins. (29 cm). Miller, Itineraria, Sp. 922: Thasarte, it. (It), Tharsete (Ra); j. Mehamla am Sebkret Sidi Mansur, wo ausgedehnte römische Reste; oder Fummes Somma. mil: CIL VIII 10020 - 10022. 19; bis Capsa 35 (It). Kommentar (RE): https://elexikon.ch/RE/VA,2_1309.png Thasarte. Eine nur in den römischen Itinerarien erwähnte Siedlung Nordafrikas im heutigen Tunis nördlich des Schott el Djerid. Tab. Peut. V 4 nennt den Ort Thasarte, Geogr. Rav. III 5 p. 145 Tharsete. Er lag zwischen Si(e)lesua (jetzt Hr. el Djerbi) und Veresuos (jetzt Bir Marbod) an der von Tacape (jetzt Gabes) nach Capsa colonia (jetzt Gafsa) führenden Straße und entspricht dem heutigen Mehamla am Sebkret, wo sich ausgedehnte römische Ruinen gefunden haben.
